Join us for an exciting panel event! Given our current political climate, we are exploring the role of publishing and politics with a group of panelists participating in the conversation in a variety of ways. Some are actively promoting political, social, and environmental activism through the books they develop and initiatives they spearhead. Others are walking the line between customer wants and political beliefs. Through this panel we will discuss the ways in which each contribute to the political conversation.

Our panelists include:

  • Marissa Baker, national account manager at Perseus Distribution
  • Dhonielle Clayton, COO of We Need Diverse Books, author of Tiny Pretty Things, former librarian, and co-founder of CAKE Literary
  • Gabriella Doob, associate editor at Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins
  • Cathy O'Neil, author of Weapons of Math Destruction and contributor at Bloomberg View
  • Saba Sulaiman, junior agent at Talcott Notch Literary Services

Moderated by Kendra Levin, executive editor at Viking Children's Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House
